The talent pool was deeper for Chasin Racin on Thursday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway, but it didn’t stop the speedy son of The Panderosa from chalking up his second consecutive victory

The five-year-old Andrew Moore trainee, who was a three-length winner in a $10,700 conditioned assignment one week ago in 1:52, turned in a flashy, front-stepping score in Thursday’s $13,000 Preferred Pace with driver Gord Brown at the helm.

Brown rolled Chasin Racin to the top from Post 7, and the classy campaigner tore through panels of :26.2, :54.3 and 1:23.1 before using a :29.3 kicker to seal the deal by a length over Pieraz. Third prize went to Smokeys Luck.

Jamie McKinley of Clyde River, PEI shares ownership on the 14-time winner with Jody and Larissa Sanderson of Doha, Qatar. Chasin Racin has assembled a 4-4-1 record from 14 trips postward this season, and he’s managed to add more than $37,000 to a lifetime bankroll that stands at $659,216 following Thursday’s tally.
