A first-over trip in Inverness Raceway's $900 Open Pace Wednesday night resulted in a winner's circle celebration for Cloaked In Glory and his connections.

Lifes Win (Greg Bailey) put up the opening panels of :29.4 and 1:00.3 in the five-horse feature before facing a challenge from Cloaked In Glory. With John Kennedy in the bike, the son of Armbro Operative-Looks Like Glory, who advanced from fourth, reached the lead by the 1:30.3 three-quarters mark and took the field into the stretch. Holding off a late rush from Jewel Thats Me (Alex MacQuarrie), Cloaked In Glory reached the wire with a half-length to spare, stopping the clock in 2:00 flat. Muirkirk (Ray Deagle) followed the winner’s cover to grab third.

Frankville, Nova Scotia’s Don Kennedy trains and owns the eight-year-old, who earned his sixth seasonal score tonight in 20 starts. Cloaked In Glory is now a 29-time career winner with a bankroll totaling $88,945.
