Shartin N Resurfaces

Older pacing dynamo Shartin N had taken roughly a month's break from the charter's eye since her August 16 score in the $129,000 Artiscape Pace. The hiatus came to an end this morning (Tuesday, September 15), as the speedster resurfaced during qualifying action at Harrah's Philadelphia.

The United States 2019 Harness Horse of the Year paced a mile in 1:52.2 on Tuesday morning, with a :26.4 final quarter which indicated that she is ready for the lucrative season-ending stakes events that are looming on the calendar.

With the mare's regular driver Tim Tetrick at the Meadows for Keystone Classic stakes competition, trainer Jim King Jr., who himself has 3,369 career sulky victories, guided the seven-year-old daughter of Tintin In America on Tuesday.

King and Shartin N went right to the front during the morning mile and rattled off fractions of :28.2, :57.3, and 1:25.3. King then let Shartin N speed on home en route to a four and three-quarter-length win.

King noted that Shartin N's potential dance card for the remainder of the 2020 stakes season includes the Dayton Distaff Derby, Breeders Crown, and the TVG Series. Shartin N is owned by King's wife Jo Ann Looney-King, Richard Poillucci, and Tim Tetrick LLC.
