An odds-on favourite captured Thursday’s finale at Mohawk Racetrack, and as a result there were multiple winning tickets sold on the Jackpot Hi 5 wager.
As a result, the carryover going into Friday’s card of racing at the Campbellville, Ont. oval has climbed to $586,615.05.
Beach Goddess, sent off as the 4-5 favourite in her quest for a third straight victory, prevailed as the public’s popular choice. Village Jamie (88-1) came on strong to finish second with Traffic Jam (12-1), Cloud Diva (6-1) and Mach The Cut (2-1) rounding out the top five finishers.
The winning combination of 1-7-5-3-9 kicked back a healthy return of $11,859.95 for a $1 ticket.
The monster-sized carryover will find its way into Friday’s 10th race at Mohawk Racetrack.
