With the Little Brown Jug known for showcasing the will to win in heat racing on a half-mile coming up this week, horsemen and women recall the horses they've trained or driven that had the biggest heart in this week's Standardbred Canada video feature.
This past spring, Trot Insider asked horsemen what is the quality they most admire in a racehorse and many said it was heart, determination, courage and desire.
"It's that desire that a lot of them are just born with that we look for," stated George Ducharme, trainer of last night's Canadian Trotting Classic champion and this year's Hambletonian heats winner Royalty For Life.
Whether lacking in size, speed, conformation or soundness, these determined horses gave it their all on the racetrack for their connections.
Who is the horse you've trained or driven that had the biggest heart?
