This Saturday night Mohawk Racetrack will offer one of its richest race cards of the year
. The $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic will be featured along with the $500,000 William Wellwood Memorial, $466,000 Peaceful Way Stakes and a lone elimination of the Milton Stakes for the continents best older pacing mares.
Crys Dream is one filly that will headline the Peaceful Way Stakes for two-year-old trotting fillies. The daughter of Taurus Dream-Crystas Image won her elimination last week in 1:56.4 and will be looking for her biggest payday of her young career.
Earlier this year the two-year-old miss won the $50,000 In Free Trotting Series final for trainer Henrik Hollsten and owner-breeder Reve Avec Moi Dreamwithme of Knowlton, QC.
A winner of four of five career starts, Crys Dream is just shy of $100,000 in earnings.
Driver Luc Oullette has driven the freshman trotter in just two appearances but is certainly confident his charge can find the winner's circle again this Saturday.
"I like our chances," Ouellette told WEG's media department. "She had gone very well the week before, and again this week. She's a very nice horse, good size horse, her mannerism are very good on the track and she's tough. I can't say enough good things about her."
"I would say that right at this point she does everything I have asked her to do so easily," Ouellette commented.
Crys Dream will leave from Post 4 with an approximate post time scheduled for 8:33 p.m.
Racing fans are also reminded that this Saturday is customer appreciation night at Mohawk Racetrack. The first 2,000 fans will receive a complimentary slice of pizza and beverage.
Mohawk will offer a guaranteed pool of $50,000 on Saturday’s early Pick-4 as part of the festivities.
Fans who can not make it to the track can watch live coverage of the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic and $500,000 William Wellwood Memorial during a two-hour special, from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., on The Score.
