Crackers Hot Shot added another big victory to her resume as she nosed out Emotions Run Wild in the $20,000 ASHA Filly Stakes for three-year-olds on Saturday afternoon at Alberta Downs.

After settling away third from the inside post position, driver Bill Tainsh Jr. sent the Camcracker-Shesahotshot filly wide around the pocket-pulling Emotions Run Wild (Kelly Hoerdt) on the final turn and out-sprinted her to the wire in 1:55.2.

One of two trailing tier starters, Contesta Hanover (Keith Clark) kicked home from mid-pack for third over one length behind. Barona Lilac (Philip Giesbrecht), who lead the 10-horse field through fractions of :28, :58.1, and 1:26.2, finished fourth with a from-last Real Pretty (Jamie Gray) sprinting home to grab the final paycheque in fifth.

Crackers Hot Shot now boasts seven wins from 11 sophomore starts and a seasonal bankroll of $92,722 for trainer and owner Rodney Starkewski of Lamont, Alta. She's already swept the first two legs of the Alberta Sires Stakes and collected a Wild Rose trophy at the start of the season.

The overwhelming 1-5 favourite paid $2.60 to win.
