There will be just one elimination for the Milton Stakes this Saturday at Mohawk Racetrack
The best older pacing mares will in town as part of a lucrative race card which includes the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic, $500,000 William Wellwood Memorial and the $466,000 Peaceful Way Stakes.
With 11 horses entered for this Saturday's lone elimination, Tug River Princess has received a bye based on highest money earned and will advance directly into the $372,000 final for her connections.
Last year's winner, Southwind Tempo, is back once again to defend her title. The winner of over $2 million in her career has drawn Post 2 for trainer Darren McCall. The daughter of Bettors Delight won her most recent outing over Chester Racetrack when she won a Fillies and Mares Open in 1:51. Tim Tetrick is listed to drive for owners Jerry Silva and Let It Ride Stables.
Dreamfair Eternal has had a solid start early in her 2010 campaign, but hasn't performed as expected in her most recent attempts. After finding the winner's circle in her first nine of 12 races this year, the millionaire daughter of Camluck hasn't been victorious in her last three outings. Dreamfair Eternal has drawn post three for driver Randy Waples, trainer Pat Fletcher and owner John Lamers.
Racing fans are also reminded that this Saturday is customer appreciation night on behalf on Mohawk Racetrack. The first 2,000 fans will receive a complimentary slice of pizza and beverage.
Mohawk will offer a guaranteed pool of $50,000 on Saturday’s early pick-4 as part of the festivities and fans who can’t make it to the track can watch live coverage of the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic and $500,000 William Wellwood Memorial during a two-hour special, from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., on The Score.
