P J Clark matched his own track record for four-year-old trotting stallions in winning the featured $24,000 Open Handicap Trot on Tuesday night at Pocono Downs

.

Leaving from Post 5 in a field of nine as a 5-2 third choice, P J Clark, trained by Laura Shock, was sent to the front end immediately by driver Jim Morrill, Jr. Despite pressure on the outside from Howd That Feel throughout the second quarter, the trotter sustained the lead and finished 2-1/2 lengths clear of the field in a time of 1:53. It matched the mark that he set earlier this year on August 10. Grain Of Truth finished second while Badboy Paparazzi A came on for third.

P J Clark, a son of Broadway Hall, won for the ninth time in 25 races this season and it was his 12th lifetime victory. The winner’s share of the purse pushed his career earnings over $274,000.
