Saturday, September 12, 2020 proved to be a special day for Kingston, Ont. horseman Dan Murphy.

Murphy piloted Dreamex, a four-year-old daughter of Archangel and Amex, to a 2:00.2 victory in the fourth race at Kawartha Downs. The victory gave the longtime horseman driving wins in six consecutive decades (1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s).

Murphy owns, trains and was the breeder of Dreamex.

Murphy’s first driving win was on December 14, 1975 when he drove his father Don’s horse, Papa Dillon, to victory at Frontenac Downs in Kingston, Ont.

Making the day even more special is that Murphy was able to share the victory in the winner’s circle with his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Murphy.
