Digital Image Retired

Trot Insider has learned that open class trotter Digital Image has made his final start after a career that spanned seven years and 127 trips to the gate.

A nine-year-old gelded son of Balanced Image - Appleby Dreambelle, Digital Image last raced on August 30, finishing sixth in a conditioned event at Mohawk. Owned by John Vinen with breeders Rick Thompson and Robert Watson of London, Ont. and Mike Bartram of Ingersoll, Ont., Digital Image retires with 23 wins and more than $630,000 in earnings.

Digital Image's best season on the track came in 2007 when he raced on the WEG circuit and banked $218,000. In 2008 he stepped up to Grand Circuit competition and responded with top-three finishes in the American-National (second to World Record holder and U.S. Trotter of the Year Enough Talk) and Breeders Crown (third behind Corleone Kosmos and O'Brien Award winner Arch Madness).

Thompson told Trot Insider that Digital Image is now enjoying the retired life at his farm in London turned out with his dam Appleby Dreambelle and several others.
