A request by New Meadowlands Racetrack LLC to extend the date it will assume control of the racetrack's operations to December 5, 2011 has been approved by the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority

"We asked to extend the date in order to give the New Jersey Racing Commission adequate time to review NMRLLC's licensing applications and to address open labour issues," said Meadowlands Racetrack lessee Jeff Gural. "Both must be resolved before NMRLLC can take over operations. An extension is necessary to ensure a smooth transition for all parties."
The change in operational control date will not affect ongoing NMRLLC projects such as the re-banking of the Meadowlands track surface and development of the Bayonne OTW and new racetrack grandstand.
