On Saturday, Sept. 16, Kawartha Downs will be remembering those who have contributed so much to the success of harness racing at the Peterborough-area oval with a Memorial Night.
"These individuals will always be a part of the Kawartha Downs family and we welcome the families and friends here on Saturday night to remember but never forget those who we have lost," said Jim Huck, Kawartha Downs' Director of Horse Racing. "Each race is in honour of these very special people and we invite all family and friends to the winner's circle."
Those being honoured on Saturday include Dave "Garney" Gibson, Don Bye, Gerald Lowery, Roger Hie, Michael Peconi, Lorne & Grace Brethour, Bob Quinn, Ivan Johnson, James "Jumbo" Marchment and David Ahern.
