Charming Nancy made it four-for-four as she rolled to victory in the fourth leg of Buckeye Stallion Series for two-year-old filly trotters Thursday night at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
Aaron Merriman drove the Chris Beaver trained filly to a wire-to-wire victory in 1:58.2. The Uncle Peter-Caviar Forthe Lady filly edged Bathsheba AS and Dan Noble by a half a length, while Rose Run Why Not was third for Anthony MacDonald. Charming Nancy is owned by Beaver, Joe Sbrocco, Mary McLoughlin and Michael Carter. She returned $9.80 to win.
Sandy Beatty guided Forceful Power to a 1:57.1 win to go two-for-two in BSS action. The Triumphant Caviar-Rose Power filly is owned by Stephen Sexton and paid $15.60. Forceful Power left from post one, but got away sixth, started the chase going to the half before moving three-wide at the three quarters to score by 4-1/4 lengths. Chip It In with Trevor Smith was second, while Kurt Sugg took third with Jogging Sweets.
Shenzi AS got the maiden victory with a win in 1:58.4 for Dan Noble and Annette Lorentzon. The filly is by Lionhunter out of Pandora AS and owned by ACL Stuteri AB. Shenzi AS left from post four and got away second, was shuffled to fourth before charging home a winner by three parts of a length over Margaret River and Tyler Smith. Elegant Gigi with Chris Page finished third. The winner returned $8.60 to win.
The final leg of the two-year-old filly trot will be held at the Delaware County Fair on Tuesday, September 22, with a 1:00 p.m. first post time.
