Frank Chick's Majestic Mistress ($4.80, Mike Cole) improved to three-for-three locally with a 1:56.1 triumph in Wednesday evening's (Sept. 12) $17,500 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway.
Despite having the outside post, she was able to quickly negate the disadvantage from the outer rail with a swift move to the lead, where she would coast to an easy win over Murmur Hanover and Celebrity Pegasus. It was the third straight win for the Kevin Lare-trained Majestic Mistress.
On the undercard, William Moffett's Gillie The Kid ($4.00, Art Stafford Jr.) prevailed in 1:57.3 over Spunky Jack and Whitesville Dixon. The five-year-old Northern Kid gelding notched his fifth win of the season for his owner-trainer.
Ross Wolfenden had four wins on the card.
Monday (Sept. 17) will feature the marquee event of the season at Harrington Raceway, the $150,000 Bobby Quillen Memorial, featuring some of the sport’s top aged pacers, in conjunction with five $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) divisions for two-year-old pacers.
Live racing continues Monday through Wednesday. Post time is 5 p.m.
