September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre and the Newfoundland Harness Horse Owners Association will be holding a special day at the races on Sunday in aid of the Candlelighters, a volunteer charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
Several Candlelighters families will be in attendance and involved in the post parades and presentations to the winning drivers following each race. There will be volunteers at the gate accepting donations plus several activities throughout the day with all proceeds going towards the Candlelighters Association
