The day started out very well for trainer/driver Connie Kolthammer at the Yorkton Exhibition on Sunday, who kept the pedal to the metal and finished the card with a

three-win performance.

Kolthammer took the opener with Outlaw Black Gold, who drew off to win by eight lengths in a time of 2:06 as the 4-5 favourite. Outlaw Mascott made a trip to victory lane just four races later for Kolthammer, who guided the daughter of Clintons Cigar to a 2-1/4 length score in 2:04.4.

Kolthammer came right back to the winner’s circle the very next race with Smart Shark, who laid down fractions of :30.1, 1:02.1 and 1:31.4 in the $1,300 Open Pace before kicking home in :29.3 for a 2:01.2 triumph.

As a trainer, Kolthammer needs just three more wins for 200 lifetime tallies. The conditioner has harness winners in excess of $1.2 million in purse earnings.
