The trip was sweet and the end result was even sweeter for Harnessnitencanada, who rallied to a 1:52.4 score in Monday’s $11,000 Preferred-2 Handicap Pace.

Making his second start since being purchased privately by the GAAR Racing Stables of Thornhill, ON and Sylvain Descheneaux of Sorel-Tracy, QC, Harnessnitencanada rushed to the lead from Post 2 and had the field chasing him past the quarter pole in a :28-second clip. Scott Coulter took a backseat to Lucky Man, who eventually cleared and took the field through middle panels of :56 and 1:24.3. Harnessnitencanada re-rallied in the lane and his :28-second closing speed was good enough to earn him the win over Lucky Man by 1-1/4 lengths. Rounding out the top three finishers was Button Up.

Sent off as the 3-5 favourite in the eight-horse affair, the Richard Moreau pupil improved this year’s record to 4-6-2 from 29 starts while increasing this year’s earnings to $62.490. The six-year-old son of Rambaran-Armbro Poppins is now a 16-time winner who has stashed away in excess of $183,000.
