A compact group of five trotters took to the track at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday evening (September 9) racing under saddle action, and it was Kamikaze Lindy that hit the wire first.

Maggie Jones put Pukka on the front early and cut the opening quarter in 30 seconds and the half in :59:3.

Kamikaze Lindy made a strong bid after the half and headed to the lead at the three quarters in 1:30:4. Pukka made a miscue, which allowed All Out Henry, with Karoline Neilsen, to take over second at the top of the lane.

Kamikaze Lindy was strong to the wire in a mile time of 2:02:1, while Majestic Mystic, who had sat the pocket earlier in the mile, raced up the rail to finish second. All Out Henry finished third. Pukka finished fourth after the break, while Lexus DJ pulled up at the three quarters.

Kamikaze Lindy is a five-year-old son of Crazed out of Banza Hanover. He is owned and trained by Shane Arsenault of Freelton. With the victory, Sarah Town recorded her third under saddle win of the year.

Racing Under Saddle Ontario’s next race will be at Kawartha Downs on September 23.
