On Saturday, September 9, Dave Dewhurst-trainee Jk Panache toughed out a first-over journey to record his eighth victory of the season, taking the $18,000 feature in 1:52.4.
In his return to Saratoga on Saturday, JK Panache was the 3-2 favourite. After the first quarter went in :27 seconds, the half was paced in :56 seconds, and at that point, JK Panache moved first over, providing cover for Givenupdreaming, and they, in tandem, cleared the leader and turned for home separated by just a half length. JK Panache, however, edged away from Givenupdreaming, while longshot Respectable Dream finished third.
The eight-year-old son of Art Major piloted by Shawn Gray returned $5.10 to win.
Live racing continues at Saratoga on Sunday, September 10 with a matinee that kicks off at 12:15pm.
