‘Meredith’ left from the inside post position with Luc Ouellette in the bike, carved out fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:23.3, and hung on by a neck to score in 1:51.2. The odds-on favourite held off a hard closing Dreamfair Eternal (Randy Waples) and longshot A Ps Money Maker (Rick Zeron) for the win with Arts Diva (Paul MacDonell) finishing just a half-length back in fourth.
Meredith Maguire N paid $4.20 to win. The four-year-old daughter of Christian Cullen-Alvez was purchased from Down Under connections by Brenda Selwyn Waxman and Isaac Waxman of Dundas, ON this summer and has since won three of her four starts in the northern hemisphere, including a Mares Open at Mohawk two weeks ago. The seven-time career winner has banked $170,837 to date.
