Grand Slam For Steacy

Trainer Mark Steacy earned star of the card honours on Friday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway as he racked up four wins during the 15-race program

Steacy teamed up driver Gord Brown to kick off the night on a winning note with a pair of two-year-olds. The Panderosa filly Passionate Trish ($8.30) took the opener in 1:59.1 while Tamarind ($19.50), an Angus Hall colt, rallied from the backfield to win for the first time in his fourth race assignment in 2:02.1.

Later on the card, Modern Music ($3.70), a Modern Art sophomore filly, scored her fourth win in a row in Race 10, stopping the clock in 1:57.2 with Stephane Brosseau in the bike. Three races later, Brown guided three-year-old Lil Presto Hanover ($7.50), a daughter of The Panderosa, wire-to-wire in 1:57.2.

Steacy, four-for-five on the night, now sports 61 wins on his training record for 2010 with over $585,000 earned. The resident of Lansdowne, ON has recorded 1,092 wins lifetime banking over $12.5 million.
