The 2024 edition of the Coville Cup driving tournament is set for Sunday, Sept. 1 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Since 2007, the Coville Cup has been one of the most popular events at the Gloucester, Ont. track. Shawn Steacy won the inaugural edition of the event for up-and-coming drivers, while last year's Coville Cup was won by William Roy, who now drives regularly at Rideau Carleton.

Named in honour of Darrell Coville, the top Rideau Carleton driver who retired in 2019, the 2024 Coville Cup consists of five legs (Races 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10) to be raced on Sunday, Sept. 1. This year's competing drivers are Mike Armstrong, Phil Reid, Claude Larose, Sebastien Turenne, Antonio Vecchio, Josh Miller, Michel Legace, Jeff Taylor and Carter Gimblett.

Darrell Coville will be on hand with Gordon MacDonald, President of the National Capital Region Harness Horse Association, to present the trophy to the top driver.

National Capital Region Harness Horse Association director John MacMillan is a longtime organizer and promoter of the Coville Cup. He will be at the track on Sunday night and is slated to call the first race of the tournament.

There will also be an on-track Coville Cup handicapping contest with a $1,000 cash prize. There is no entry fee, but the winner must be present to collect their prize on race night.

Rideau Carleton Raceway is available for wagering on multiple ADWs across North America, including HPIBet in Canada. Sunday night post time is 6:30 pm (Eastern). For entries, click the following link: Sunday Entries - Rideau Carleton Raceway.
