Pilgrims Truffles, a daughter of Chocolatier, won the biggest race of her career with a 2:00.2 victory in the $100,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Premium Division championship final for two-year-old trotting fillies Wednesday at Freehold

Raceway.

With Jim Meittinis driving, the filly sat second through most of the race until the stretch and drew off to win by a length and a half of Caitir (by Classic Photo), who was closing in the stretch. Whats Your Name (Muscles Yankee) finished third. The race leader, Kenda (Yankee Glide), trotted in front until the three-quarter-mile mark and broke stride.

It was the second win in five starts this year for >a href="http://trackit.standardbredcanada.ca/?op=QRAP&id=561500">Pilgrims Truffles, who had won a $17,000 preliminary leg of the NJSS series. The $50,000 winner’s share boosted her career earnings to $63,125 for co-owners Rodney and Edward Andrews, Damien Meola and the Pinstripe Stable. Scott Andrews was the winning trainer.
