Grand River Raceway wrapped up its newest promotion, the $5,000 Horse Name Costume Game, on Friday
, August 27.
The contest challenged participants of all ages to fashion costumes in the likeness of the name of a horse racing on that night’s card.
In addition to $1500 in nightly prizes, photos of all 100 participants are now posted for online voting here.
Voting closes September 6 at noon. The person with the most popular costume receives a $500 cash bonus.
The Horse Name Costume Game is presented in cooperation with the Ontario Harness Horse Association (OHHA).
During each night of the promotion, the top five children and five adults win a combined total of $1500. The following are the top finishers from August 27:

5th - $50: Lisa Ecclestone (Condor)
