Driver Lorne House dominated the day at Clinton Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 9, visiting the winner's circle five times during afternoon's 14-race card.
House picked up his first win in the third race with Vivs Freight Train ($6.40) for trainer Joe Shaw then added victories with the Denis Kerr trainee Better Than Crush ($3.30) and George McClure pupil Teen Tattler ($3.10) during the middle portion of the program. The Dutton, Ont. reinsman won back-to-back races late afternoon to complete the five-bagger with Lily Clare ($4.80) for the Melissa Loyer stable and Buy Mediamonds ($10) for trainer Ryan Steward.
House's five-win day catapulted him to the top of the 2026 Clinton driver standings, overtaking Brady Galliers (18-15). He now sits on the verge of a sixth 100-win season, having driven a total of 99 winners across all racetracks so far this year. Lifetime, he has won 1,515 races and is closing in on $10 million in earnings.
Travis Henry, Clinton's defending driving champion, had twice the fun driving a pair of winners in the third leg of the Prospect Series for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings. Henry took the $10,000 first division with the forwardly-placed Ordinary Superstar ($10), who was on the move around the front duo and escaped their final-turn commotion to score by 3-1/4 lengths in a two-minute mile. Co-owned by trainer Len Lalonde Jr. and Power Racing Stable, the Bulldog Hanover-Lyonsweetie gelding earned his first career win in his fourth start.
Henry later drove the winner of the second and fastest Prospect division when Will Farroh ($2.60) romped to a 9-1/4-length triumph in 1:59 flat for trainer Gregg McNair. A homebred for William Brown and Brenda Derible, the colt by Century Farroh out of Superior Rose is perfect in the three Prospect preliminaries and also sports a fourth-place finish in the Battle of Waterloo on his resume.
The other Prospect division was won by Hutt Racing Stable's Untold Story ($3.20), who made a big four-wide move from the backfield in the final turn to keep his own perfect Prospect record in tact for the father and son, training and driving duo of Carl and Jody Jamieson. After debuting in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series, the Bettors Delight-Unred Hanover colt has won three straight, with Sunday's score in 1:59.3, as part of a driving double on the day as well for "Double J," back at the scene of his recent National Driving Championship victory.
