The official draws took place this morning for two Sobeys Gold Cup & Saucer trials that will lead up to the 57th running of Prince Edward Island’s signature race on Saturday, August 20 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.
Harness racing’s richest horse, Foiled Again, has been entered to compete in the legendary race. He has drawn the rail for the first trial.
"This shows the calibre of talent the Gold Cup attracts year after year," Lee Drake, marketing manager with Red Shores, told the CBC. "We are pleased to have Foiled Again in the starting lineup."
The first trial will head to post on Saturday, August 13, while the second trial will be raced on Monday, August 15.
