Trainer Casie Coleman celebrated a special career milestone as two-year-old pacing colt Beat The Drum won Friday evening's 10th race at Mohawk Racetrack.

Coleman earned her 2,000th training win after the favoured Tell All colt rolled to the lead down the backstretch and cruised home in 1:53 with Scott Zeron aboard. Beat The Drum, who was making his first start for the Coleman stable, is owned by Staffan Lind and Bender Sweden Inc.

The 33-year-old resident of Cambridge, Ont. also won a division of the New York Sire Stakes earlier in the night at Tioga Downs with another freshman, Stay Up Late, to help her reach the milestone.

“When I first came to Ontario, I never dreamed I’d win 1,000 races lifetime let alone 2,000 at my age,” the B.C. native told WEG's Communications Department after the victory. “It’s pretty surreal to think that my team and I have accomplished this. It’s just a great feeling.”

Canada's five-time Trainer of the Year award winner has earned 55 of her 2,000 victories this year to earn over $1.3 million in purses. Lifetime, her stable has amassed close to $45 million in earnings.
