The fields have been drawn for the Prairie Lily Pace, which will take place Friday, August 12 at the Yorkton Exhibition. The event, for Canadian-sired aged pacing mares, is sponsored by Standardbred Canada and the Saskatchewan Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association
.
The connections of 11 distaffers entered their charges to contest the stakes event, which will be contested in two divisions (Race 3, 4) on Yorkton's eight-dash docket. The card will kick off with a 5:45 p.m. first-race post time.
A field of five lasses is scheduled to head behind the gate for the first division, which carries a $4,300 purse. The Tyler Redwood-trained and driven Power Maid will start from Post 4, and the six-year-old daughter of Goliath Bayama will be looking to build off her 2:00.4, gate-to-wire score which came over Yorkton last week.
The second division, which carries a $4,400 purse and is scheduled to house six lasses, will feature the Elaine Bell-trained and Blake Piwniuk-driven Marlowe from Post 4. The five-year-old daughter of As Promised was also a wire-to-wire winner last week, as she posted a three quarters of one length win, also in 2:00.4.
