Cheeky Little Minx Marches At Summerside

Cheeky Little Minx was the best of the girls Sunday afternoon (Aug. 8) in the Island Oceans Trot Series, presented by J D Marine and Diving Inc., at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Kenny Arsenault was in the driver’s seat behind Cheeky Little Minx as she won the second $4,800 leg of the Island Oceans Series in 1:59 for owners Howmac Farms Ltd of North Wiltshire and Wayne MacRae of Fall River, N.S. Gilles Barrieau trains the winner.

Daisy River finished second in the class with Go With Her third.

Arsenault also scored with Gascoigne Sundae (1:58.1) for trainer Wade Sorrie, and with Slightly Twisted (2:01.3) from the Frank Banks stable to bag a triple on the afternoon.

Walter Cheverie had a driving triple, winning with Dangle Ona Dime (1:58.3) for Darla MacEachern; Power Of A Cruiser (1:58.1) from the Philip Desroche barn and with Nogreatmischief (1:56.2) from his own Nine Mile Creek stable.

Bugsy Maguire won the $2,800 top class of the day in 1:55.1 in line to Norris Roger for owner Walter Simmons of Summerside, giving trainer Wade Sorrie a double.

Mark Bradley recorded a driving double on the program.
