Freddie Repeats In Open Trot

For the second week in a row it was Freddie coming away victorious in the $2,250 Open Trot at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Thursday evening feature saw Freddie get away third for trainer/driver Marc Campbell, who watched Hop Up carve out fractions of :29.4, :59.2 and 1:29.4. Freddie came first over on the way to the half, and he still found himself more than two lengths away from the leader at the head of the lane. Freddie used a :29.3 closing quarter to win by a neck over Hop Up. Suicide Shift was a well-beaten third in the five-horse affair.

Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, Freddie improved his 2019 record to 7-4-0 from 13 starts for the Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston, PE. The 54-time winner is closing in on $150,000 in lifetime earnings.
