There was no floating like a butterfly for Stinglike A B K; he powered right to the top and widened his lead late to capture Wednesday’s (Aug. 7) co-feature at The Meadows, an $11,800 conditioned trot.
Tony Hall pointed Stinglike A B K to the front, and the three-year-old son of Andover Hall and Winning Missbrenda brooked no challenges, prevailing in a career-best 1:56.2. Just Fly Beyond was second, 2-1/4 lengths back, with Bellesvictorysong third. Rich Gillock trains the winner for owner/breeder Bob Key.
Hydration took Wednesday’s companion feature, an $11,800 conditioned pace, in similar front-end fashion, scoring in 1:52.1 for Dave Palone, trainer Brian Brown and owners Country Club Acres, Joe Sbrocco and Strollin Stable.
Jim Pantaleano piloted three winners on the 13-race program, while Aaron Johnston enjoyed a training and driving double.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (Aug. 10), when the card features a pair of stakes for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings: a $182,052 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and a $60,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series event. On the wagering front, the program offers a carryover of $4,545.21 in the Pick-5 (races two through six) and a $190.24 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 p.m.
