Commission Rules Out Plainridge Slots

It has been reported that the state gaming commission in Massachusetts has disqualified Plainridge Racecourse from being a bidder for the addition of slot machines.

According to an article by The Sun Chronicle, the disqualification has come due to alleged evidence of illegal 'withdrawals' from the track's money room by former racecourse president and CEO Gary Piontkowski.

The report states that there has been speculation about the potential of another gaming operator being able to acquire the track in an attempt to revive the location as a possibility of slots expansion in the state.

Earlier this week, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission announced the determination of suitability regarding gaming applicant Ourway Realty LLC (operators of Plainridge Racecourse), who were in pursuit of the state’s single slots-parlour license.
