Lady Rev was a handy winner in Monday’s $6,000 Open Trot at Northfield Park, and she kicked back a healthy return to her backers.

Oliver Hepner, Jr. trains and co-owns the mare, who returned $14.20, with Kathleeen Duszynski and John Caterinacci. Hepner called upon Frank Harris to drive the six year-old trotter.

Lady Rev, a daughter of Revenue S-Red Mile Lane-Lindy Lane, started from post four. Harris took her off the gate and sat fifth through an opening quarter of :28.1. Lady Rev pulled second over nearing the :58 half and tipped three wide approaching three-quarters in 1:27.4. Lady Rev took the lead in the stretch and bested her competition by 1-¼ lengths, stopping the clock at 1:57.4. Senator Sam was second, with Buckeye Patty finishing third.

Monday’s win was the eighth victory in 2013 for Lady Rev, who now has 24 career successes and earnings of $96,158.
