Pocono dynamo Luck Be Withyou scored another win at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, taking Saturday's $25,000 Winners Over Pace in 1:48.4.
George Napolitano Jr. hustled Luck Be Withyou away from the outermost post seven (he and Keystone Velocity had shaken for the two outside starting spots), with Polak A grabbing second and Keystone Velocity into third.Luck Be Withyou posted fractions of 26.3 and 55.1.
After quickening in the third quarter, timed in 1:22.1, Luck Be Withyou braced a passing-lane rush by Keystone Velocity, holding him at bay by a nose while Polak A held on for third.
Trained by Chris Oakes, Luck Be Withyou has now amassed $1,439,791 for owner John Craig. This was his 16th win in his 25-start career at Pocono. He paid $4.60 to win.
Two-year-old colt pacers take to the Downs’ oval for the next two nights in the third preliminary leg of the Pennsylvania-sired series, with Stallion Series horses going in five cuts on Sunday and Sire Stakes stock, including the exciting Done Well, in three divisions Sunday.
