Brushing to the front after the quarter, Do Over Hanover gradually drew away on the lead before finishing six lengths in front of Adkins Hanover and Elm Grove Kaboom in his 1:53.1 win in the $2,400 Preferred Pace on Saturday, August 5 at Charlottetown Driving Park.
Owned by Allard Racing, Red Isle Racing, and Steven Macrae, trained by Chris McKay, and driven by Michael McGuigan, the four-year-old Western Ideal gelding won his 13th race in 35 tries and his eighth win in 16 starts this season. He paid $6.90 to win.
Dixie Lullaby sat a pocket trip before edging past pacesetter Shadows Mystery and holding off rallies from Good Luck Kathy and Prettyndangerous to win the $2,250 Open Mare Pace in 1:57.4. Owned by trainer Robert Kyle Fellows with partner Carl Stafford and driven by Walter Cheverie, she paid $9.60 to win.
