The fashion police would have arrested Paul Conway on Sunday, August 4 at Pinette Raceway.
With his red hair, bushy red beard and several conflicting plaids, he wouldn't have looked out of place storming out of the Highlands of Scotland although his sartorial sense might have been questioned even then.
But it is horsemen like Conway and all the other drivers who don kilts for the day that make the Kilted Pace such a rousing success.
The tiny grandstand was full, the fence along the track was lined right to the entrance and kids, dogs and parents mopping up ice cream filled the grounds.
