As Tuff As Nails benefitted from a masterful pocket trip, executed by driver Marc Whebby in Woodstock, N.B. on Friday night. The son of Bettors Delight exited the two-hole at the top of the homestretch, overtaking the pacesetter Doubleshotascotch to win the $7,500 Kelti Burnett Memorial Pace at Connell Park.

It was the sixth win of the season for the Wayne Whebby-trained and owned As Tuff As Nails, who stopped the timer in 1:55.4. Doubleshotascotch raced sharply for second, finishing ahead of Malek Hanover.

Seven-year-old Camluck gelding Man In Pink and driver Mark Haig captured the $2,000 Winners Over Pace in 2:00.1 for trainer-owner Gordon White.

Todd Trites and Heath Campbell each drove three winners. Trites scored with P H Catman in 2:01.3, Nicoles Baby in 1:58.4, and Dream Of Riches in 2:01.1 while Campbell notched triumphs behind Ultimate Faith in 2:01.1, Connely C C in 2:00.3, and Rockstar Bayama in 1:59.4.

The most prestigious trot race in North America will take place on Saturday. The $1.5 million Hambletonian will be staged at The Meadowlands in New Jersey. Wagering is available at the Winners Lounge at Fredericton Raceway.
