Indiana Downs hosted the opening round of Indiana Sires Stakes for two-year-old trotting fillies Thursday, August 4 with a quartet of $40,000 divisions. Cincinnati Kid freshmen dominated the events, winning three of the four contests

Cincinnati Star turned in the fastest split of the night, winning for driver Trace Tetrick in 2:00.
Starting from Post 3, Cincinnati Star and Tetrick raced mid-pack early before moving to the lead on the way to a 1:00.4 opening half. The Steve Carter trainee extended to a two-length advantage at three-quarters and crossed the wire three and one-quarter lengths ahead of Antie M. Go Kid Go finished a distant third.
The victory was the fourth in eight starts for the freshman, owned by Peggy Carter, Sheila Hummel, Robert Reid and Great American Stables, LLC. Bred by Double Spring Farm, Cincinnati Star returned $15.60 in victory.
This Kid Cant Wait, with Ricky Macomber Jr. in the bike, followed favourite Shes Country and Charlie Conrad throughout the mile and trotted home in :30 to claim victory in another $40,000 division by three parts of a length in 2:02. Second choice My Sweet Shiela and Dave Magee were third.
The victory was the first career tally for the Cincinnati Kid filly. Bred by Victory Hill Farm, the freshman is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Frank Baldachino and Phillip Collura.
Unhurried early in the mile, Bluebird Kidsqueen advanced from third-over at the three-quarter pole to score a victory Thursday. Guided by trainer Robert Taylor, the filly took command at the top of the stretch and pulled away by three and one-quarter lengths, stopping the clock in 2:02.3. D K Sadie and Joe Putnam trotted second while favourite Mont Money finished third.
Owned by Taylor and Douglas Riccolo, Bluebird Kidsqueen earned her first win in her second career start.
Above The Bar filly Bar Sue picked up the win in the last $40,000 division on the program with a 2:02.4 effort for trainer Valerie Wells. Sam Widger sat behind the freshman, moving from seventh after the half and trotting home in :29.1 to win by a length and a quarter. Sweetasmusic raced second, followed by favorite Blueridge Abigail.
Dennis Reisert owns Bar Sue, a winner in her pari-mutuel debut.
