Little Manny heads a solid group of six that will compete in Friday night's top class at Exhibition Park Raceway presented by Horse Racing New Brunswick (HRNB).
Note that post time is slated for 6 p.m. This was a previous date held for Woodstock, but track operators made the call to race the date in Saint John.
Little Manny is owned by Brad & Dean Mclaughlin, Mark Taylor and trained and driven by co-owner Stephen Trites. The pacer will look to get back in the winner's circle, leaving from post five in the fifth race.
His last victory came at Exhibition Park back on June 5, but he has competed with the Maritimes' best pacers in events including the Governor's Plate, Lindsay Cup, and recently in the Walter Dale.
Pickpocketprincess didn't take long to record her first win of the season. She will have rail advantage for owner/trainer Wayne Hubbard. Sam Hodgin will drive again this week after steering her to a 1:59.4 win in her last start.
Veteran pacer Instant Shadow will leave from post two for trainer and co-owner Dawn Hubbard, who shares ownership with the Ultimate Stables. He was a winner two back in 2:00.
Emperor and owner/trainer/driver Jeff Lewis scores from post three and the eight-year-old felding is coming off a solid second place effort last week, pacing his own mile in 1:56.2. He has a season's best mile of 1:54.2 this year, the fastest win of any pacer this year in the field.
Bugger Max comes off a win last time out for driver Mark Haig and owners Gordon White and Dale Orr. He will bust the gate from post four and, with a solid showing, the pacer will eclipse the $4,000 mark in seasonal earnings.
Rounding out the field are Ebandtheboys for owner/trainer Doug Beckwith and catch-driver Colin DeCourcey. He was claimed from Beckwith two weeks back by P.E.I interests, but Beckwith reclaimed the pacer in his next start. He has a win this season in 1:59.1.
