George Rennison enjoyed a training triple on Friday (August 4) at Truro Raceway while Heart And Soul provided another highlight on the night in defeating His Boy Elroy in the featured Winners Over Pace.

After His Boy Elroy (Bernard McCallum) took the lead from eventual third-place finisher Distinctiv Rusty (Ryan Ellis) past the :28.1 opening quarter in the $1,575 top class, Heart And Soul ($3.40) moved underway and advanced from fifth through middle splits of :58.1 and 1:28.2. The favourite then wore down His Boy Elroy in the stretch to prevail by a head in 1:57.1 for trainer/driver Clare MacDonald and Riley Farms Ltd. of Summerside, P.E.I.

The homebred son of Western Paradise-Mighty Sassy has now won 16 races lifetime and $78,579 in purses. He has hit the board in 10 of 14 starts in his four-year-old campaign, with Friday's outing marking his third win on the season.

Rennison got off to a winning start right out of the gate as his trainee Woodmere Violator ($6.20) took the Friday night opener in a neck decision over dead-heat second-place finishers Rj Gigolo and Rockin Deo. He then won the second race with P J Camdex ($8.40) and the fourth with Grins Little Flirt ($4.30). Ryan Ellis drove all three Rennison trainees as part of a driving grand slam on the card.
