Favourite Windsong Experanza front-stepped her way to a two and a half length victory in the $4,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Sudbury Downs to kick off a training triple for local horseman Mike Lamoureux on Sunday's card.
Windsong Experanza ($4.10) held off the first over attacker and last week's winner, Grins Little Flirt, to prevail in the second race in 1:57.3 with David Dowling in the sulky. Grins Little Flirt and Justin Turcotte settled for second while Theron Seelster, driven by Gerry Belanger, finished nearly six lengths behind in third.
Lamoureux co-owns the eight-year-old Astreos mare, who has recorded eight wins in 25 seasonal starts, with Marc Belisle of Val Caron, Ont.
The meet leading conditioner also sent out back-to-back favoured winners Janes Little Girl ($2.60. Dowling) and Libertys Best Star ($2.90, Mike MacNeill) in the sixth and seventh races.
