Canada's Jody Jamieson totally dominated Thursday's fourth leg of the World Driving Championship at the Meadowlands Racetrack, winning three of the four races and building a six point lead

over Spain's Juan Antonio Riera-Rossello going into Friday's final leg at Yonkers Raceway.

Jamieson sat sixth at the start of the night before rocketing to the top of the leaderboard. He finished the evening with 133 points. Spain's Juan Antonio Riera-Rossella sits second with 127 points while Corey Callahan, the representative from the U.S.A., finds himself third with 115 points.

Here's what transpired in tonight's fourth round of the WDC:

Race 1 – World Driving Championship

Jody Jamieson took the opening event with Lady Andover in 1:56.1, and as a result he moved up to fourth in the standings. Jamieson brushed the three-year-old daughter of Andover Hall to the lead at the mid-way point before opening up a big lead heading into the final turn. She weakened late, but managed to stave off a late-rushing Peaceful Faith (Michael Nimczyk). Pure Barre (Juan Antonio Riera-Rossello) rounded out the top three in the $12,000 trotting contest. Corey Callahan and Enrico Bellei received five points when the horses they were scheduled to drive were scratched.

Race 2 – World Driving Championship

Spain’s Juan Antonio Riera-Rossello guided the classy veteran Casimir Camotion to a 1:54.4 triumph in the second division of Thursday’s World Driving Championship, and in doing so he took over command in the leaderboard. Stopwatch N (Jody Jamieson) was next best and Kamwood Warrior N (Enrico Bellei) rounded out the top three finishers in the $10,000 conditioned pace. Birger Jorgensen received five points when his horse was scratched.

Race 3 – World Driving Championship

Jody Jamieson clicked in front-stepping fashion with race favourite Military Stratcom in 1:53. The gelding dug in late to fend off the pocket-sitting Incredible Ben (Enrico Bellei). Third prize went to Bad Blood George (Corey Callahan). Franck Nivard and Dexter Dunn received five points when the horses they were scheduled to drive were scratched.

Race 4 – World Driving Championship

Jody Jamieson took a patient approach in the final event of the event in leg four of the World Driving Championship, and that approach paid off handsomely for Canada’s representative. Jamieson rallied Albion to a 1:51.4 score over Dan Chaz (Birger Jorgensen) and Trophy Hunter (Dexter Dunn) en route to grabbing the overall lead going into Friday’s final leg of the WDC at Yonkers Raceway.

"Just an incredible night of racing for me," Jamieson told Trot Insider after the card. "Sets up perfectly for me tomorrow at Yonkers."
