When it comes to trotting and winning, there isn’t a horse in North America that has done it any better in 2010 than Mr Invincible
.
A victory in 1:58.1 at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday evening for Mr Invincible was the gelding’s 12th score of the season – more than any other trotter on the continent.
John Kovacs quarter-pole-moved to the lead with the four-year-old son of Angus Hall-Ms Vic, and he lived up to his name from that point on. After being a witness to the :27.2 opening panel, he clicked off middle splits of :58 and 1:27.4 en route to the 2-1/4 length decision over Just One Day. Third prize went to Rose Of Mali.
Mr Invincible started the evening deadlocked with Zaire N, a 14-year-old gelded son of Gee Whiz-Perdita. Both square gaiters had 11 wins apiece.
Trainer Wayne Preszcator co-owns Mr Invincible, who was just a one-time winner last year, with partners Dorrie Brunton, Harness Racing Canada 8 and Laurie Brunton. Wednesday’s win gives the trotter a 12-1-1 record in 19 trips postward this season.
