After sharing the spotlight in a dead-heat win last weekend at Truro Raceway, Oakmont was determined to be the only one at the finish line in Sunday's top class.
Oakmont pulled the pocket and confronted the popular pacesetter, Prosecco Brut, at the three-quarters quarter mark in the featured $1,275 Winners Over before drawing off down the lane for a four and three-quarter length victory in 1:56.1. Prosecco Brut stayed for second while Likely To Win rounded out the top three finishers.
Danny Romo trains and drives the seven-year-old I Am A Fool gelding, who now has five wins in 14 starts this season, for Grayland Farm of Pugwash, N.S.
