After four straight starts of going home empty handed Casimir Richie P took home all the marbles thanks to a front-stepping score in Monday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for horses and geldings at Grand River Raceway.

Casimir Richie P took an early seat behind Brave World, but Colin Kelly popped out with Casimir Richie P and gained the lead while racing parked past the quarter pole in :28. Once Kelly cleared it was Casimir Richie P who sped through fractions of :57.4 and 1:26 before smoking home in :28.3 to win by 2-3/4 lengths over Brave World in 1:54.3. Taking home third prize after tagging along was Passionate Prince.

Teesha Symes trains the six-year-old son of Astronomical-Casimir Hugs for owner Michael Goldberg of Toronto, ON. The win was the fourth of the season for the 23-time winner who now boasts lifetime earnings in excess of $370,000.
