A trip to Grand River Raceway on Monday evening turned out to be a profitable one for driver Anthony MacDonald, who clicked for five victories on the 12-race card.
MacDonald found his way to the promised land for the first time on the card in Race 2 with Bad Girl Vegas (1:57.1), and things just snowballed from there. Jersey Joe towed him to a 1:56.3 triumph in Race 6 and he finished off his big night with a natural hat trick.
He shared the spotlight in Race 10 via a dead-heat decision with Rocket Art (1:57.4) before sweeping the Late Double with Canbec Fridolin (1:58.3) and Redline Hanover (1:57.1).
The reinsman from Guelph, ON has now racked up 279 wins this season and his purse haul has climbed to just over $3.3 million. He’s on pace to break his own single season earnings record ($3,368,021) from 2011, and he’s on the verge of surpassing $20 million in lifetime earnings.
