It was all All Artist in the $6,500 2019 Kelti Burnett Memorial Pace as harness racing returned to Woodstock, N.B.'s Connell Park on Friday (August 2).
Driver McGwire Sowers used rail control in the field of six to gain control of the mile early with six-year-old All Artist, rated through fractions of :27.2, :56.1 and 1:26.1 to repel the first-over bid of star mare Ramblinglily (Mark Haig) and then a subsequent threat from stablemate Steuben Magic Ride (Andrew Harrington) to win by a quarter of a length in 1:56.3. Steuben Magic Ride finished second, holding off a late challenge from Woodmere Ideal Art (Todd Trites).
Philip 'Bo' Sowers trains All Artist (Roddy Bags Again - Allamerican Artist) for Anthony Stymest of Beaver Bank, N.S., now a winner of 20 races in his career with his bankroll just sitting shy of $250,000.
