While the amount of revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos was the single highest monthly period of revenue since legalized gaming was introduced into the Commonwealth in 2006, revenue from all racinos in the state were down
.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported on its web site that July gross revenue at the 10 operating casinos was $218,300,465 from slot machine play. The previous high month for revenue was March 2011 with gross revenue of $214,926,433.
Revenue was up 3.43% from July 2010 to July 2011 statewide, however, each racino in the state including Parx Casino (-9.32%), The Meadows Racetrack and Casino (-2.61%), Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack (-16.20%), Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse (-6.05%), Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs (-2.38%), and Presque Isle Downs and Casino (-4.62%) saw decreases in revenue.
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem (5.53%), Rivers Casino (10.78%) and Mount Airy Casino Resort (0.75%) saw increases in revenue while SugarHouse Casino was not operating in July 2010.
