Jo Ann Looney-King's Purrfect Bags notched a 1:54.3 win over a sloppy racetrack Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in the featured $17,500 Mares Open.
Nerida Franco N, the 2-1 second wagering choice led the field of eight through fractions of :27.2, :56.3 and 1:25.3 before Terror At Night collared the tiring pacesetter and assumed command. The lead was short lived, however, as Purrfect Bags and driver Victor Kirby charged by in the stretch to prevail. Terror At Night was second with Miss Me Yet third.
It was the 28th career win for Purrfect Bags, a five-year-old daughter of Roddys Bags Again.
